More than a million dollars in gloves stolen from Florida hospitals

CORAL SPRINGS. The thieves stole more than 6 million gloves, worth $ 1 million, intended for emergency personnel in hospitals from Florida.

Medgluv, the national distributor of gloves for the healthcare sector, said it received the shipment on Friday evening at its offices in Coral Springs. On Sunday evening, a surveillance video shows thieves arriving in a truck who park next to the container and begin unloading the protective equipment. The operation took a few minutes.

“We have hospitals asking us about this product every day, waiting for it to arrive,” he said. Rick Grimes, Medgluv Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It’s heartbreaking in more ways than one.”

Grimes hasn’t made it clear if the company believes the theft was timely or if there was internal cooperation.

Local police and federal authorities are investigating the case because the surgical gloves have been federally registered.

Grimes said the company was “devastated”.

“It’s not just about consumers. It is about friends. We play an important role in health care, ”Grimes added.
