MIUI 12 updates with better app sound control

Xiaomi is about to become the favorite brand of the Spaniards, at least if we look at the sales figures of their mobile phones. One of the reasons is because MIUI allows a great customization of the terminal and offers us many options to improve day by day.

In the middle of this year 2020 the company announced that it was working on a new way to control the volume in MIUI 12. Now this feature is reaching international mobile users as it is the MIUI 12 Global ROM that receives the update.

Volume control individually in MIUI 12

The novelty is related to the way in which varying the volume of the terminal depending on what we are doing.

By default, Android is able to differentiate the volume we assign to some functions, such as the alarm, calls or multimedia elements. However, it cannot distinguish between applications.

This is what the latest MIUI 12 update offers, a granular control that allows you to put a different volume for each application. This is perfect when we use Picture in Picture with a Netflix video, for example, but at the same time we are browsing Twitter or Instagram stories, which we don’t want to be heard.

How to activate this function

It is important to note that the new form of sound control is not active by default. To use this parameter we need to go to:

• Settings.
• Sound and vibration.
• Sound Assistant.
• Adjust multimedia sound in multiple applications.

As we always say, updates are already sent to all users, but it will take a few weeks before they are all available. This is because they are launched in waves, to avoid problems affecting a large number of users.
