Microsoft tries to understand why some games are better on PS5 than Xbox Series X.

Although Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Series X is the “most powerful console in the world”, PS5 is passing it in the initial tests of the game and the Redmond giant is already trying to understand why.

As The Verge says, Digital Foundry has been analyzing some of the new games on PS5 and Xbox Series X. In Devil May Cry 5, for example, Xbox Series X works best in 4K and Ray Tracing modes, but the Higher framerate option works better on PS5, with differences reaching 40 fps.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, a heavily promoted game from Microsoft, also performs better on PS5, with the Xbox Series X version recording more framerate drops below 60fps. The same is true with Dirt 5, where image quality and resolution are better on PS5. Here, Codemasters stressed that they are aware of this performance difference and are already working on it.

As for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it ends up working better on Xbox Series X with Ray Tracing mode, but PS5 tops the performance in 120fps mode.

What is the reason for this discrepancy? The manufacturers have spoken to The Verge and say some of the problems are related to the fact that Microsoft only allowed the presentation of the Xbox Series X gaming certification in June, while they had access to the PS5 dev kit much earlier.

So, everything indicates that this is not a platform issue, but rather a lack of time for manufacturers to optimize their games on the X Series. Microsoft is aware of this issue and promises that it will work with them to fix any kind of complication. . existing.

The Xbox Series X hit the market on November 10th. If you haven’t at that time, you can read our console review here.
