Even in the second block, millions of people in Germany work from home again. Many of them use Microsoft Teams. This is not a new Microsoft product, at least it was available before Corona and was also used in many companies. However, the big hype came only with the aftermath of the pandemic, as many companies sent a large portion of the workforce to the home office.
Microsoft is now fueling this hype vigorously and constantly sending new features into the race that should outperform the competition. Teams has already been an attractive choice for many in recent months, as the Microsoft tool can be extended with numerous third-party apps. Organizational tools like Trello, social tools like quizzes and surveys or just the weather report – all of this can be integrated directly into teams via the app hub. Nearly 20 of these apps can now be used not only in text channels, but also directly in meetings, including the Polly Detection Tool and Asana Scheduler App.
Other functions are planned, some of which should arrive in 2020. Others will have to wait until the beginning of 2021: we will briefly introduce the most important.
