The giants Microsoft and Google have been involved in about 20 lawsuits related to the use of patents for mobile phones, Wi-Fi, web video content and other technologies.
The two companies have decided to close all lawsuits, including those related to Google’s former Motorola Mobility smartphone division.
The two IT giants have agreed to work on some patent issues, saying they will work together in some areas, which have not been specified.
Microsoft and Google did not disclose whether their deal involved a money exchange.
