The New York Mets have signed sought-after prospective client Sam McWilliams with a $ 750,000 deal, according to a report by MLB Network reporter Jon Heyman.

This is the most money an inexperienced MLB player has received in the last decade, with the exception of players who have been signed by the Japanese league.

McWilliams is 25 and well projected, so he may soon join the rotation led by all-star Jacob deGrom.

In the 2019 season playing with the AA branch of the Tampa Bay Rays, the youngster recorded a record of 6 wins and 3 losses, with an ERA of 2.05 and a WHIP of 1.25.
