Maura Higgins and boyfriend Chris Taylor enjoy a trip to the Dubai desert

They enjoyed a romantic getaway in Dubai after recently confirming to be an item after months of speculation.

And Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor looked perfectly at the happy couple as they shared a series of shots from their desert trip with a camel.

The former Love Island stars shared the photos Saturday after Maura’s ex Curtis Pritchard recently hit on their romance.

The Irish beauty, 30, looked gorgeous in a beige shirt while also sporting a patterned bandana and wearing her straight poker-style brown hair.

Maura pretended to approach the camel to kiss it, with Chris, 30, jokingly commenting on the post: “Cuckolded by a camel. Destined to happen, he was incredibly charming.”

The couple’s close friend and Island of love colleague Molly-Mae Hague admitted she was jealous of the couple’s trip, writing, “The camel on the bed at home is sad seeing this.”

Chris shared a photo of himself wrapping his arm around Maura as he recounted that the camel’s name is “Reginald”.

Trisha Goddard, with whom Maura competed in Dancing On Ice, commented on the photo and joked: “I guess there have been a lot of fucks this holiday …”

Maura posted her stories on Instagram on Sunday and shared a photo of her and Chris taken during her recent birthday party in Dubai.

The couple hugged as they posed on the balcony of the WHITE nightclub.

It comes after Curtis Pritchard lashed out at ex-girlfriend Maura and her “close” friend Chris after learning about their new romance.

The dancer, 24, dated Maura for seven months after meeting her on the 2019 series of Love Island, where Chris was also a contestant.

And while his romance with Maura ended in March, he has now revealed that he feels “hurt” and “betrayed” after she shares the news that she’s now moved on to dating Chris.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: ‘I feel betrayed by both of them – two people I was very close to. When I saw the photos I would be lying if I said I don’t feel hurt. I was angry. How long has this really been going on?

Denying once again that he had been unfaithful during his time with Maura, Curtis went on to suggest that Chris was waiting in the wings for a chance to date Maura.

He explained, “If you look back at everything – and I’m looking back now – I’m like,” Curtis, all the signs were blooming there, why didn’t you realize it then? ”

“You just don’t do it when you’re in that situation. You trust what they say. Now its true colors are shown. They said they would never be together, and here they are.

Curtis added that he was particularly hurt by Chris because he “supported him” and was “a good person” to him during their time together at the Love Island mansion.

Curtis’ interview comes just days after Maura and Chris confirmed they were an item, after months of speculation.

The former Love Island stars took to Instagram on Tuesday night to post identical beloved shots, taken by the pool in Dubai.

Maura, who celebrated her birthday this week, and Chris looked at each other lovingly in the photo, smiling happily, with Maura captioning her post: “He is mine!”

Chris followed suit, writing, “It turns out I fell in love with my best friend!”

This was met with sweet responses from other Love Island contestants like Michael Griffiths and Ellie Brown, who already seemed to know the secret.

Laura Anderson also stepped in, adding: ‘Why am I crying? #bestnewsever ‘

Gemma Collins of TOWIE also commented on the shot, writing: “I’m so happy for you.”

The beloved couple looked like the picture of happiness: Maura in a champagne satin mini dress and Chris in his signature jazz shirt and ripped skinny jeans.

Maura and Chris have been fueling rumors for months with their close friendship, but denied they were an item as early as July.

They initially caused tongues to start wagging after teasing TikToks together, getting comfortable with Twister games, going out in the evening and putting on each other’s dressing gowns.

But Chris – who was paired with Harley Brash on the show – and Maura have consistently denied the rumors in the months following her split from Curtis.

When told they would make the perfect match, Chris replied: ‘Yes, potentially. We never really thought about it that way, we’re just very close friends.

“We take care of each other, we take care of each other, we basically bully each other.”

Earlier, speaking to MailOnline, Maura insisted that her relationship with Chris is strictly platonic.

He continued: ‘Chris is one of my best friends. A lot of people have said we date, but that’s only because we get along so well.

‘We click and make the same lines. We got along so well in the villa, but I don’t think our friendship proved itself at all.

“A lot of people thought we had become friendly outside of the show, but we didn’t – we got activated right away.”

But they were at the center of further speculation after friends appeared on Love Island: What Happened last month.

Speaking during a confessional, Maura admitted being regularly questioned about their relationship and said, “I get so many messages about me and Chris!”

Chris added: “We get along very well, similar personalities and jokes … I think finding someone you can be yourself with is really rare.”

As the former grid girl joked: “One day we might be friends of benefits, who knows!”
