Matanie records 13 new cases

13 new cases of COVID-19 have been added to Bas-Saint-Laurent’s toll, which reports 585 infections, including 11 deaths.

All of these cases were recorded in the MRC in La Matanie, which now has 99 people affected since the start of the pandemic. Six infections related to the epidemic at the Résidence des Sages de Matane are not included in the report of the day and will be counted in that of Friday.

10 residents, one of whom died and another hospitalized, and one worker contracted the disease in this housing setting.

As for the Résidence des Bâtisseurs, also in Matane, the situation is stable. 62 residents, three of whom have died and one is receiving treatment, 14 workers and 3 caregivers have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19.

According to the Integrated Center of Health and Social Services (CISSS), however, 478 Bas-Laurentiens are considered restored.

On Wednesday, 650 people were tested in the region. Furthermore, on Thursday and Friday, the Regional Directorate of Public Health reopens the mobile screening clinic in Matane.
