‘Marvel’s Avengers’ is now 50% off for Black Friday, and yes, it’s worth it

I’ve been keeping an eye on the Avengers player numbers on Steam which have dropped to a few hundred in recent times, indicating the game’s health is pretty poor. But I saw it quadruple this past weekend, which made my first thought “wow, people are really excited about Kate Bishop’s announcement!” but I quickly realized it was stupid. Rather, the game is for sale.

Marvel’s Avengers is currently 50% off on most platforms for pre-Black Friday deals. bringing it down from $ 60 to $ 30 ($ 40 for some versions).

Despite all the criticism the game has received, its relatively low review scores and its uncertain future prospects, I’m here to say yes, I recommend the game. Certainly, at that price.

Because? Some reasons.

Avengers is fun when you play the base campaign, a really cool Marvel story built around Kamala Khan joining the team, and the best base campaign I’ve seen in the looting genre, where it’s normally an afterthought. I think the campaign alone is worth the $ 30 here, and it’s really excellent.

Avengers is fun when you level all characters up to 50 and each new level unlocks a skill point which can drastically change the way you play. It’s really cool to maximize all six characters’ skill trees and it doesn’t take long to do that.

Avengers is fun when you’re just beating enemies to death. Seriously, the character kits they have designed for each of these heroes are absolutely fantastic and for me, the best part of a mile game is why I I’m I can’t wait to see what else they can do with Kate Bishop, Hawkeye and others. The moment to moment gameplay in Avengers is just great with every character.

So, all of this is why I think the game is worth $ 30 on sale. But after? Things … take a turn.

Avengers is not funny when you’re looking to get your gear score up to 150 with little drops and a grind that ranges from fun to boring.

Avengers is not funny when you are looking to grow exotics that simply cannot be grown because they are only guaranteed a few times a week and rarely if ever show up elsewhere.

Avengers is not funny when you realize that the “final tasks” are things like the 48-story Hives or Tachyon Rift missions on a timer with annoyingly shielded enemies and an effect that makes you bleed your health for the whole thing.

To sum it up, Avengers is a lot of fun for a while, through the campaign and at least the initial character leveling process. Avengers is a lot less fun in the real game ending that he’s still trying to figure out. But I think what you get now is definitely worth $ 30, but that’s just me. That’s a recommendation I couldn’t make about Godfall, a similar game in the genre, which I wouldn’t say is worth $ 30, much less the $ 70 it’s currently charging.

So yeah, buy Avengers on sale. It’s better than you’ve heard and who knows, maybe they’ll fix it in the long run too.
