Argentine justice carried out several raids this Sunday morning at the home and office of Leopoldo Luque, Diego Armando Maradona’s last personal doctor, accused in the investigation for his possible responsibility in the fatal outcome of the Argentine idol, Telesur reported .

Luque has been charged with the crime of manslaughter as part of the case investigating the circumstances of Maradona’s death, according to Argentine media.

The San Isidro justice, by order of Judge Orlando Díaz, broke into Leopoldo Luque’s home and office this Sunday.

The purpose of the raids was to remove documentation that might help understand how Maradona’s last days were regarding his medical care.

Luque was formally informed of his rights this morning, while his house located in Calle 30 de Septiembre in 1800, in Adrogué, in the southern suburbs was raided.

Judicial sources have made it clear to Télam that this notification does not imply a request for investigation or a measure restricting liberty, but rather that he has been informed that he is being investigated for the possible commission of the aforementioned crime.

The turning point in the investigation came after prosecutors received the statement this Saturday from Dalma, Giannina and Jana, the three daughters recognized by Maradona, who were very energetic against the way their father’s treatment was handled.

The San Isidro Public Prosecutor’s Office reported in a statement that on Saturday “the investigative tasks and the evidence of the evidence in progress continued, taking up some witness statements, including direct relatives” of Maradona.

The daughters asked the courts to know what treatments and medicines Maradona received in her last weeks of life, especially since the subdural hematoma appeared on her head, which, on Luque’s recommendation, was operated on at the Olivos Clinic.

Maradona, 60, hospitalized earlier this month in two health centers for anemia, dehydration and a subdural hematoma for which he was finally operated, died last Wednesday of cardiac arrest in a house on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

The former footballer had received a medical discharge from the Olivos clinic where he was operated on on 11 November and from then until his death he lived in a house in a private residential complex.
