Only 20/25 friends and relatives attended the funeral of the football legend Maradona, who was surrounded by millions of fans throughout the day. The burial was surrounded by relatives.
According to the BBC, the god of football was buried near his parents’ grave in Bella Vista, Buenos Aires, Argentina on Thursday evening. Previously, Maradona’s coffin was buried in the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace to pay his last respects to fans.
Ignoring the fear of crown infection, millions of fans gathered in hopes of touching the coffin of their favorite football player for the last time. All the visitors had tears in their eyes and flowers in their hands. Some were wearing a number 10 shirt and a dress with a picture of Maradona. Someone blew a kiss from the beloved from afar.
Meanwhile, the Argentine police have had to work hard to handle millions of fans. More than a kilometer in the direction of the presidential palace to avoid the long lines of fans at one point the police fired rubber bullets and tear gas. Yet the fans could not be managed.
In particular, on Wednesday, Argentine football god Diego Maradona left for the land of no return after his heart stopped beating. The legend, who almost single-handedly helped Argentina win the World Cup in 1986, underwent brain surgery just two weeks ago. He left the hospital and went home. The former Napoli and Boca Juniors star underwent brain surgery earlier this month. At first he should have left the hospital quickly. But due to various complications of alcohol addiction, one has to stay there for a long time. Though his doctors complained, Maradona didn’t want to stay in the hospital, bothering the rules every time in his life. He had to leave the hospital despite the doctor’s ban.
