Hash Code Book (HCB), a Malaysia-based blockchain specialist, implemented NTT’s cloud management platform to simplify multi-cloud environments as part of plans to improve operational efficiency.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, HCB provides dedicated IT outsourcing services in blockchain, cryptocurrency and co-systems development, serving customers in Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Malaysia.
Due to such a disparate user base, workloads have been spread across Asia via multiple cloud service providers, creating a fragmented workflow in the process. Further challenged by “limited resources” and the inability to obtain insights into workload consumption and spending optimization, HCB continued with plans to streamline IT management capabilities in an effort to improve performance and quality of the service levels.
In response, NTT conducted an assessment of HCB’s existing IT infrastructure and implemented a cloud management platform designed to provide “efficient control and management” of cloud services from various hyperscalers in a single platform.
“As an IT outsourcing services company with customers across Asia, many of our applications and solutions ran on multiple cloud platforms,” said Victor Seow, CIO of HCB. “We have realized that an integrated environment is critical to help us stay competitive and drive sustainable economic growth with reduced risk.
“NTT understood our challenges and recommended the best solution to address them, while laying the groundwork for taking advantage of future opportunities.”
According to Seow, the implementation enabled HCB to “discover and visualize” all cloud resources via a customizable dashboard view, supported by key performance metrics such as status, utilization and cost information gathered from various cloud solutions.
Further supported by a “robust dashboard”, HCB can track all workloads, including total monthly spend, cumulatively and by project in a single overview to improve decision making and optimization. The dashboard also reveals the information needed for effective strategic planning and governance.
“Most organizations use three to five clouds on average, and that comes with the complexity of managing these multiple platforms,” added Henrick Choo, CEO of NTT Malaysia. “By choosing to work with the right technology partner like NTT, companies can focus on what they do best and leave the complexity of the technology in our hands. We are proud of our ability to drive business agility through intelligent technology solutions and to ensure that HCB is always ready for the future. “
