There is also compatibility with the Apple M1 processor and applications start immediately on systems with this CPU. The operating system would be 2 times more responsive thanks to the new architecture. We also have better power management and better battery life. macOS Big Sur is available on PC from iMac 2014 onwards, on iMac Pro and Mac Pro from 2013 onwards, Mac Mini (2014 and later), MacBook Air (2013 onwards), MacBook Pro (2015+) and MacBook ( 2015+).
