MacBook Pro 13 2020 is Apple’s champion in terms of autonomy, no other device in the MacBook offer has managed to offer up to 20 hours of autonomy as promised in the new Pro 13 in the 2020 edition with Apple M1 as a processor.
I structured key specs for MacBook Pro 13 2020:
- LED-backlit 13.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, brightness of 500 nits;
- Octa-core Apple M1 with octa-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine, 8/16 GB of RAM, 256/512/1 TB / 2 TB SSD;
- MacOS Big Sur;
- Wi-Fi ax, bluetooth 5.0, 2 x Thunderbolt / USB 4, 3.5mm jack, Magic backlit keyboard, integrated webcam that shoots at 720p, stereo speakers and support for Dolby Atmos playback;
- battery that would offer an autonomy of up to 20 hours in video playback and 17 hours in web browsing, 1.4 kg and dimensions of 30.41 x 21.24 x 1.56 cm.
Apple states that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 developed on 5nm would offer 2.8 times higher CPU performance, 5 times on the graphics side and 11 times on machine learning (The 16-core neural engine helps here).
Comparisons are made with a MacBook Pro with quad-core Intel Core i7, both notebooks with 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD. The pro also has a heatsink for cooling the chipset, something the MacBook Air lacks (hence the increase in performance in tasks that require a plus on the side of sustained processing power).
There are two color options: silver and space gray. Prices start at $ 1299 in the United States.
