  • “Sometimes I felt so shit that I didn’t want to get up in the morning,” Loco said in an interview with 20 Minuten.

His Instagram account has been empty for days. And the fans were worried: what’s wrong with Loco Escrito (30)? The solution is simple: she reported to her account on Tuesday at lunchtime – with new photos, gray hair, and the short “Sad” signature. This is the name of his new song, which will be released on Friday. And that’s how he’s been feeling lately: sad.

The separation from his girlfriend in the spring had hit him hard. In 20 minutes, the Latin star from Zurich with Colombian roots talks for the first time in detail about her love sickness, the reasons for love and the consequences.

The separation: “I was wrong”

In early February this year he made it public that there was a new woman by his side. Business was also good: at the end of the month, Loco Escrito won the “Best Hit” award at the Swiss Music Awards, a Swiss record, for the second consecutive time.

Only a few weeks later, in May, the low blow followed. “During Corona my relationship fell apart,” he says. With which: the separation had little to do with the pandemic.

“I made mistakes,” Loco admits. She didn’t recognize the relationship enough, “both temporally and emotionally”. As a father, there is already great love in his life. And there are actually two: besides her four-year-old daughter, it’s music. “There isn’t much space left.”

The pain: “I didn’t want to get up anymore”

It was his girlfriend who pulled the tie after only five months. “It was a bad blow for me,” says Loco, “sometimes I felt so shitty that I didn’t want to get up in the morning.” He had never known depressive traits as such. “I didn’t feel anything anymore and I really let myself go.”

The relationship was her first real in years. “I have lived life as a lone fighter since my daughter was born.” All the more he suffered from love sickness. “But life had to go on at some point. You have to give time, let’s say in Spanish. And it really was. “

Loco got up, found his way back to sport, lifted weights even heavier than usual and made music.

The song: “Deep insight into the soul like never before”

Two weeks after the separation, the single “Sad” was created, which he released this Friday. While there is always room for anguish in his songs, he has “never allowed such a profound insight into my soul”.

“Sad” reflects Loco’s emotional world after love: the song and video are unusually melancholy and dark. This was important for processing, says the Latin flyer with four platinum singles in a row. “When I wake up I feel sad and heartbroken,” Loco sings. Or: “I can’t stand what I feel in my chest.” Pain he felt 100 percent.

The hairstyle: “I was very nervous”

Simultaneously with the new song, Loco presents a new look: he dyed his hair white. “I’ve wanted it for a long time,” he says. However, the hairdresser he trusted had warned him of the lengthy and complex procedure – time he was finding just now due to the corona pandemic.

After all, shortly before his appointment, he had become “very nervous”. Not necessary, as it turned out later. Her fans are celebrating her new hairstyle and Loco himself is happy about it. It adapts to its new stage of life.

He also has a new album in the pipeline. When it will appear has not yet been determined. Soon, hopefully. And soon he will be able to present his new songs live. «I miss dhe internships so much. “
