British scientists talked about the consequences of a lack of vitamin D in the body. This is reported by Express.

Note that a deficiency of this vitamin can lead to osteomalacia (a systemic disease characterized by insufficient mineralization of the bone tissue – ca. “Lenta.ru”). According to doctors, in the early stages, the disease can develop imperceptibly. It can only be detected by X-rays or diagnostic studies.

Researchers noted that vitamin D deficiency can cause aching pain in the pelvis, lower back, legs, hips and ribs. Pathology is dangerous for the elderly, as it leads to fractures and osteoporosis.

Previously, researchers from Boston University School of Medicine found that among coronavirus-infected patients with normal levels of vitamin D in their blood, there are significantly fewer severe cases and deaths. Adequate vitamin D can help prevent complications such as cytokine storms.
