FC Basel provides another young player with a professional contract: Liam Chipperfield (16), son of club legend Scott Chipperfield.
Liam Chipperfield has been playing for FC Basel since 2013 and has progressed through all junior levels ever since. On Friday the club announced that Chipperfield will receive his first professional contract. The 16-year-old Swiss is the son of FCB legend Scott Chipperfield. He celebrated seven championship titles with Rotblau and helped shape an era.
Liam Chipperfield made his first-team debut against FC Schaffhausen in mid-November. In the 4-0 win, the youngster scored the first 1-0 goal for the FCB. Chipperfield has also played for various national teams.
