Leverkusen scores three times
Bayer Leverkusen qualified for the round of 16 of the Europa League with a 3-2 (2-1) win against OGC Nice rivals. After the 6-2 victory in the first leg against the southern French, the most dangerous offensive of the competition (17 hits) would have been enough to advance through a direct confrontation even a defeat with three goals. Moussa Diaby (22nd), Aleksandar Dragovic (32nd) and Julian Baumgartlinger (51st) scored for Werkself. Hassane Kamara (26th) and substitute Dan Ndoye (47th) have drawn in the meantime.
After four wins, TSG Hoffenheim celebrated their group victory on the penultimate day of the preliminary round thanks to a 0-0 win at the home of the Serbian Red Star Belgrade champions. There is a € 1 million bonus for this. Due to the crown pandemic, the TSG convoy left for a day trip to Serbia. In the morning we went there by charter plane, right after the game.
Arsenal for 2000 fans
Arsenal FC celebrated their group win when some of the fans returned. The Gunners have won in an English side’s first game in front of spectators since the outbreak of the crown pandemic last March against Rapid Vienna 4-1 (3-0) Arsenal welcomed 2,000 visitors to their arena thanks to the regional loosening of the spectator ban in effect for more than eight months.
