The relationship between the coronavirus and that vitamin deficiency has been demonstrated once again

Vitamin D deficiency was detected in 80% of coronavirus (Covid-19) patients. The research, the results of which were published in the “Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism”, revealed once again the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and Covid-19.

As part of the research, it was observed that 80% of the 216 Covid-19 patients studied at the Marques de Valdecilla University Hospital in Spain had a vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D levels in men were lower than in women.

In Covid-19 patients with low vitamin D levels, serum levels of inflammatory markers such as ferritin and D-dimer were also observed to be increased.

Dr. Jos Hernandez, “Patients with Covid-19 with low levels of vitamin D in their blood should be advised to take vitamin D. This approach can have beneficial effects on both the muscles and the skeleton and the immune system.”

Vitamin D is said to help the immune system fight infections such as the common cold and the flu. Scientists have discovered a strong link between vitamin D deficiency and deaths from Covid-19.

Experts from Northwestern University in the United States have discovered this link by examining Covid-19 patient data collected from hospitals in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Switzerland, Iran, South Korea and China.

In the study conducted in Singapore, it was found that the combination of vitamins D3 and B12 and the magnesium mineral could prevent Covid-19 from progressing to a fatal or severe stage in patients aged 50 and over.
