L’Ancienne-Lorette: another elementary school undergoing massive screening

Students at another elementary school in the Quebec region will need to be screened for a COVID-19 outbreak.

The parents of the students of the Hauts-Clochers school in L’Ancienne-Lorette received a letter to this effect in the past few hours.

Public health at CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale confirmed the presence of COVID-19 cases in the Notre-Dame pavilion.

According to the most recent picture of the situation, five classrooms are currently closed here following the confirmation of 23 out of 1 cases in total of COVID-19.^time, 2^is, 4^is and 5^is year. In a group of 5 people^is year, 14 positive cases were even detected. The school remains open for the moment.

“Your child may have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19. As a preventative measure, in order to better assess the situation, the Department of Public Health recommends screening all students in the Notre-Dame pavilion of the Hauts-Clochers school, who have not yet retired from school ”, we can read in the letter.

The screening will take place on Tuesday during school hours. For preschool students, 1^time to 3^is year included, in addition to the specialist classes, the presence of parents is required.

People who have been tested for symptoms in the past and tested negative should be tested again to get a complete picture of the situation.

However, people who show symptoms should not be screened.

The main symptoms are fever, new onset or worsening of a cough, difficulty in breathing, or sudden loss of smell without nasal congestion with or without loss of taste.

Isolation of people with COVID-19 lasts a minimum of 10 days after symptoms appear or after a positive COVID-19 test result to cover the contagious period.
