LaMelo Ball’s stupid reason why it should be the best choice

The 2020 NBA Draft is tonight, which is a little crazy because this thing took me by surprise. I don’t think I’m alone with that feeling, though, as it’s November after all and the whole year has been a total blur.

But here we are and here is my friend Charles Curtis’ mock draft to prepare you for tonight’s drama.

Charles, like many people, does not have LaMelo Ball in first place overall at the Minnesota Timberwolves. Instead, he has it sing at number 2 of the Golden State Warriors, which would be a fun thing to watch.

LaMelo, whose brother Lonzo went second to the Lakers in the 2017 NBA Draft, explained to reporters on Tuesday why he thinks he should be the # 1 pick overall:

“I feel like I’m the right man for it. As I said, I feel like I was born for this whole thing, so that’s pretty much my answer right there. “

This is a bit of a fool, and a nice fool too. I totally support his self-confidence and feelings about where he should be chosen in the project. I wish I had that confidence!

It also makes me laugh imagining myself talking about a job I’m looking for and saying to someone, “I feel like I’m the right man for it. As I said, I feel like I was born for this whole thing, so that’s pretty much my answer right there. “

I should think that the person I told this to would have burst out laughing. I really hope they do, because that’s a pretty silly thing to say.

“This whole thing is going on” is probably my favorite part of that quote, followed closely by “so that’s pretty much my answer”.

Only extraordinary things.

The Ball family has never been one to shy away from expressing their self-confidence. While things haven’t worked out the way LaVar Ball thought they would go for Lonzo so far in his NBA career, all signs point to LaMelo being an NBA star.

For this to happen, he must have a lot of confidence in himself. He must believe he was born for that job.

And hey, maybe it was!
