The KKE Attica party organization marched to the US embassy for the Polytechnic’s anniversary. All measurements and distances were observed by the participants.

The banner at the head of the march read: “We reclaim our rights to life, health, work, honor November, the struggle”, while the 200 protesters wore masks and left after a few minutes.

KKE secretary general, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, after laying a wreath on the Polytechnic’s anniversary, answered a question about the demonstration outside the US embassy that “they are doing the obvious”.

“It is a symbolic movement of the young people of the Greek people – as you can see, they are specific individuals – against American imperialism, in what our country has suffered due to US and NATO policy”, underlined the general secretary of the KKE.

He described the ban on demonstrations as unacceptable, undemocratic, unconstitutional and added that he is denounced by the entire political spectrum of the country, including within ND and KINAL, who have not signed the common text of the complaint.

According to the order of the Greek police, from November 15th until tomorrow 18th, public outdoor gatherings of four or more people are prohibited throughout the country.

In particular, due to the urgency of facing a serious risk to public health and in the context of emergency measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, by decision of the Chief of the Hellenic Police, all public outdoor gatherings are prohibited throughout the country. four or more people participate, from 06:00 on November 15th to 21:00 on November 18th 2020.

For transgressors, without prejudice to the application of other sanctions deriving from current legislation, the following sanctions are envisaged:

– an administrative fine of € 5,000 for legal persons and € 3,000 for individuals who hold public meetings outdoors, e

– an administrative fine of 300 euros for people who violate the ban by participating in public outdoor gatherings.

At the same time, according to ELAS, vehicle traffic was blocked in both streams of Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, from the height of Alexandra Avenue to the Hilton, as well as in the two streams of Patision Street, from the height of Alexandra Avenue to Concordia .
