Square Enix and Disney are delighted to announce that KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory, the first rhythm action game in the hugely popular KINGDOM HEARTS series, is now available. Starting today, musicians with a sense of rhythm can embark on new battles – to the sound of popular and timeless Disney songs from the pen of legendary composer Yoko Shimomura. These songs include classics like “Let It Go” and “Under the Sea”. The game is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With this declaration of love for music and adventure, the first game in the KINGDOM HEARTS series is also celebrating its Nintendo Switch debut.
In KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory, players can relive their favorite moments from the series as they embark on a musical adventure with Sora, Donald, Goofy and other famous characters from the KINGDOM HEARTS series. On their journey through legendary Disney worlds, players team up with beloved Disney characters and can master over 140 songs, including Yoko Shimomura’s hits such as “Islands of Destiny”, “Hand in Hand” and “Working Together” as well as wonderful classics of the famous worlds of Disney movies.
Regardless of whether players embark on an adventure alone or with friends and family in local co-op or online multiplayer mode, powered by the sounds of the awesome KINGDOM HEARTS soundtrack, they face numerous opponents and bosses. There are three different play styles so that players of all ages, regardless of their skill level, can enjoy the magic of music and adventure in KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory. Players can experience all worlds and songs with single mode in a relaxed way or choose fast performance mode to demonstrate their skills with fast and complex combos.
During their journey, players can collect legendary scenes from the entire KINGDOM HEARTS series, unlock and relive them in the game’s museum. The competitive online combat modes offer more depth with special tricks to take opponents away from the beat. If you play the Nintendo Switch version, you can also expect a free-for-all battle mode, where you can compete with up to seven other players in local co-op mode.
The celebration of the game’s release will continue in the hit mobile game KINGDOM HEARTS Union χ Dark Road, where fans can receive the brand new SN ++ MoM Kairi medal for a limited time. More information on how to get this new medal can be found in the game.
There is also good news for all KINGDOM HEARTS music fans – a digital version of the official KINGDOM HEARTS III soundtrack is now available worldwide. This soundtrack contains ten hours of music – with over 160 songs from the acclaimed KINGDOM HEARTS III and a selection of recent KINGDOM HEARTS songs composed by Yoko Shimomura, Takeharu Ishimoto and Tsuyoshi Sekito.
KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory is now available on the Square Enix Store, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and select retailers. For a limited time only: Those who purchase the PS4 version in PlayStation Store by December 31, 2020 will also receive the KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory theme as a bonus.
