Despite Corona, the new part of the cult series “Matrix” with Keanu Reeves was shot in the Potsdam film studios in Babelsberg. According to the studio’s advice, about 110 extras and around 200 crew members gathered in one of the studios and danced on Thursday evening. But how does it fit with the current rules of the crown?

According to the Babelsberg studio, this was part of the shoot. Studio director Christoph Fisser said: “A party scene was shot.” Then the end of the shoot was toasted.

The newspaper “Bild” instead reported, citing witnesses, of a possibly illegal party, including a fireworks display at the end of “Matrix 4”. There was talk of guests as alleged extras. The cameras that captured the scene could not be seen. The newspaper quotes a guest at the party: “Nobody shot”.

Head of the study: “The whole team is in the testing phase”

The “Potsdamer Neuesten Nachrichten” quotes a spokeswoman for the town hall as saying: “Following the statements made there, it is verified whether and what consequences derive from them”. No events were recorded for the evening, now the health department wants to hold a hearing.

Whether it is legal or illegal, after the break it is clear: “The whole team is in the testing phase,” as the manager of the Fisser studio said. Each extra had done two PCR tests for Corona several days ago and a quick test before the party was shot. “Otherwise we honestly would never have been responsible for it.” The actors would be tested daily.

During filming with four cameras, the masks were put on by employees, they were taken off during toasting. 56-year-old Hollywood star Reeves was at least partially present during filming.

According to the city administration, there has been no notification of a violation of the Corona rules by the Babelsberg firm. The studios are equipped with air exhaust systems with filters, the crew is regularly tested. “According to our information, there were 700 to 800 tests per week.” They had been working on the new movie “The Matrix” there for eight months.
