Jason Momoa on debt: “We were starving for Game of Thrones”

In “Game of Thrones” he played the role of Khal Drogo, prince of the Dothraki warrior people. But for Jason Momoa, the success of the popular American fantasy series came late.

As the actor said in an interview with “InStyle” magazine, he was “completely in debt” even after filming. “We were starving for Game of Thrones,” the 41-year-old said.

Momoa’s character was not granted a long life – Khal Drogo died after just ten episodes in 2011. The actor loved the role very much – and after his departure he lost not only acting, but also regular transfers.

He reported that he and his wife Lisa Bonnet had a hard time supporting the family with the two children in Los Angeles. “I couldn’t find a job,” Momoa said. “Having children and being fully in debt is a big challenge.”

But things are back to normal – with the role of “Aquaman” in the comic book adaptation “Justice League” the hard times have seemingly been forgotten. Since then, Momoa is fully booked and will appear in the sci-fi film “Dune” alongside Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin.

Environmentally conscious Momoa used the interview to appeal to readers to protect nature and, for example, to completely refrain from using disposable plastic plates in the future. Many restaurants in the United States continue to serve on plastic plates, even in expensive hotels and eco-chains the food is served in plastic containers. The drinks are also sold in disposable bottles.
