iPhone 12 Pro has received an autonomy and endurance test so far and now let’s see how it is in terms of performance. Through the PhoneBuff YouTube channel, today we see a comparison between Apple’s flagship and the rival company’s top phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It is not just any comparison, we can see how the two phones behave in everyday use, how fast applications open, but also if they are capable of multitasking.
iPhone 12 Pro hide 6GB of RAM under the hoodthis year, together with the new Apple A14 Bionic CPU on 5nm architecture and 128GB of NVME storage. For comparison, the top phone of South Koreans, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with 12 GB of RAM (double that of the iPhone) and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage was used, but also a Snapdragon 865+ processor (in theory, stronger than the version with Exynos 990 sold in our country).
The first round relies on processing power of the devices, and in the second part we observe a multitasking test. The race starts with the Facebook app, which opens simultaneously on both smartphones, but Samsung is gaining ground, with the Starbucks app loading faster on it. We notice it iPhone 12 handles documents perfectly, instantly opening a Word document and an Excel document, then moving on to photo testing, photo editing, and video rendering. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra does not give up, edit the test photo faster and move on to the video rendering test, where we see the true processing power of the new bionic A14, leaving Galaxy behind and immediately moving into the category of games.
It seems that iPhone 12 manages to finish the first round in just 1 minute and 41 seconds, already entering the second round. Here we will see if the 6GB of RAM is enough for advanced multitasking. PhoneBuff reminds us that last year’s iPhone 11 Pro failed to keep all applications in memory. This time around, however, the iPhone 12 Pro came out victorious in both the performance test and the multitasking test. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra lost by quite a large margin, finish the race 17 seconds later.
It seems Apple doesn’t disappoint this year and has solved the multitasking problem by increasing the amount of RAM, as well as storing high-speed NVME and the new Apple A14 Bionic processor. As for Samsung, we are waiting to see the comparison with the new S series which is rumored to be launched in the first month of 2021. Meanwhile, the new iPhone 12 Pro will be available for pre-order in Romania starting from 06.11.2020.
