First eh, then hot, now eh again. Michael Wendler continues to pursue a foolish strategy with his crown statements. After rowing back halfway, he is now back on the offensive. He is sure he has “sacrificed” himself and is turning his back on Messenger Telegram.
What’s the deal with Michael Wendler? You were already wondering that when, less than a month ago, he suddenly turned the angry citizen into himself. He spoke of the “alleged corona pandemic” and of the “grave and grave violations of the constitution and the Basic Law” in the measures taken to combat it.
Social networks and classic media have also lost their fat. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram are “censored”, TV stations are almost completely “synchronized and politically controlled,” said the 48-year-old.
Reactions followed promptly. RTL has ended its collaboration with the singer. Several companies have canceled their advertising deals with him. Wendler’s wife Laura Müller, who suddenly found many companies no longer attractive as influencers for their products, also fell in the wake.
“A clear conscience, a liberated heart”
Maybe that’s why Wendler paddled a little bit back on Tuesday. But his statement was at best unconvinced. Even though he explicitly apologized to RTL, he still showed little insight that he had done something wrong. No, he was not a crown denier nor a conspiracy theorist, he assured us. Rather, he could be called a “crown realist”. Otherwise he and Laura Müller were – as you might read – one thing first of all: victims. Victims of crown measures, companies, the press.
On his channel with the Telegram messaging service, which he created in mid-October, Wendler now spins this story a little further. Perhaps due to disappointment that his half-rowed back didn’t get a positive response, his words now sound more aggressive again.
“I presented myself as one of the few artists and expressed my opinion on the unbearable measures taken by the federal government. There are thousands of artists who are simply silent,” says Wendler, angrily. And he adds: “It cost me everything! Everything! It brought me a clear conscience and a liberated heart”.
Farewell to Telegram
He has almost “sacrificed himself for other people”, the musician sinks into self-pity. Apparently, however, he no longer wants to sacrifice his time for Telegram. Within weeks of opening, he announced the closure of his channel in the popular service among those who believe in conspiracies.
Wendler explains that he said and did what he could. “You are now called to make the world better and not just rely on others to do this job for you,” added the Donald Trump fan, who may also be of the opinion that the incumbent US president is the world. a better place.
