Is Formula 1 having a crown problem?
Today we want to start with a topic beyond the track. It’s about increasing the crown numbers in Formula 1. So Williams has to do without several employees this weekend, including team boss Simon Roberts. This is not really surprising given the global development of the pandemic. Because even Formula 1 is not spared.
Officially, the crown numbers in the Formula 1 circus are still low. For example, 1,781 tests were performed in the past week, only eight of which were positive. However, this does not include private team testing. In this context, colleagues from the Swiss “Blick” report that the number of unreported cases in different teams should be “not very low”.
“Some of the mechanics who have been stressed for months are simply afraid of contracting the virus,” the article says. However, Formula 1 is still planning to tackle the final three races of the season in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi as planned.
New Formula 1 product
Rights holder Liberty Media is breaking new ground in making money with Formula 1, some of which may seem unconventional. The latest product is a line of perfumes (225 euros for the 75ml bottle) that will be sold online from November 9, in time for Christmas business.
Formula 1 fans especially the extraordinary bottle design attracts attention. The so-called “exoskeleton” should be reminiscent of the monocoque of a Grand Prix racing car. The five fragrances are called “Precious Mettle”, “Turn 1”, “Overtake 320”, “Neeeum White” and “Carbon Reign”.
