The Chinese government is rather strict about services that provide information that does not correspond to the country's rules and regulations. Usually, such accounts or services are prohibited or certain limitations are established.
This time, China, or the Chinese cybernetics administration (CAC), has forbidden blockchain service providers to distribute illegal content by publishing a set of blockchain regulations, called "Blockchain Information Service Management Regulations".
According to these rules, blockchain providers do not have the right to "produce, duplicate, publish, [or] disclose "prohibited information in China." They also need to register their companies in special agencies. When registering, providers must indicate their name, server addresses and service types. The services, which do not comply with the rules, they will be fined from $ 737 to $ 4,420 depending on the seriousness of the crime.
Previously, the blockchain network was used by Chinese residents to circumvent the rules of censorship. For example, supporters of the #MeToo movement have published their stories on the Ethereum blockchain, so that they are not deleted.
Another example is published by the Twitter user (nickname: @readkrystalhu):
blockchain VS censorship in China: Beijing University student Yue Xin said that the school forced her to renounce the request for disclosure of information about a case of sexual harassment by a former prof. His letter was removed from social media, so people put it on the blockchain "nobody can change it, everyone can read it" pic.twitter.com/Kj98RwnuKF

In this regard, the Chinese authorities have made such a decision. Nobody knows if it's for good or bad. All we can be sure of is that the censorship in China is extremely severe.
