On October 13, Apple unveiled its new iPhone 12 line. Smartphones quickly won over consumers and, as evidence of this, demand was very competitive.
In this sense, and according to some rumors, the iPhone 12 Pro model will already use parts of the iPad Pro. According to the information, this decision is due to the fact that the equipment needs more parts due to support for the 5G network.
As a rule, iPhones are always phones that are massively purchased by consumers. They are quality equipment, guarantee good performance and, therefore, sell well.
Just under a month ago, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and even the iPhone 12 mini. And according to what is known, the Cupertino company has already had to increase orders for the iPhone 12 to 2 million due to high demand.
Apple is struggling to produce the required amount of the iPhone 12 Pro
According to some sources, Apple is facing some obstacles to supply the necessary number of iPhone 12 Pro. The big problem is the scarcity of precise parts to complete the production of the phone. And this situation occurs because, since it has support for the 5G network, the equipment therefore needs more parts.
Sources close to this process and who have been heard on the Bloomberg site indicate that the difficulties are mainly based on the chip responsible for the energy control of the smartphone, but also on the LiDAR component. TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), a chip maker that supplies Apple, adds that producing iPhones with 5G requires 30% to 40% more parts than 4G models.
The COVID-19 pandemic also contributed to this scenario, as it delayed the production of several manufacturers. In short, many quarantined employees, closed factories and half gas production have led to difficulties in component storage.
iPhone 12 Pro may use parts of iPad Pro
To get around this problem, Apple could use parts of the iPad Pro, launched this year, to integrate into the iPhone 12 Pro. This possibility has been reported by some sources, heard by Nikkei Asia.
It is reported that the iPad Pro also has a LiDAR sensor and a robust power chip. In this way, presumably, the parts of this device can then be used in the production line of the Apple smartphone.
Production of the iPhone 12 Pro is a priority as Apple always sells better during the first months of launch.
