Apple added support for the new AirTags in iOS 14.3. Bluetooth-based location tags from other manufacturers are also supported. For the first time, the beta version provides some information on the features that third-party products can use.
Apple’s latest iOS 14.3 beta offers observers some tips on implementing new technologies. The next update supports Bluetooth tracking tags. First of all, there are of course AirTags, Apple’s location gadgets that can be managed in the Where is app.
In this app, however, it is also possible to record monitoring trailers from other manufacturers, as evidenced by the results of the beta code made by 9to5Mac. These also show the expected range of functions. For example, customers are notified when another user’s tracking trailer is nearby. You can also see that its owner can track its location.
The user is also advised that one day the battery will soon run out and will need to be replaced.
AirTags probably won’t arrive this year
It had already been suggested that AirTags might come with a replaceable battery. However, the leaks that AirTags may arrive at the November keynote have not been confirmed, Apfellike.com reported. There is no other keynote planned for the next few weeks. In this context, it is unclear when Apple will introduce its AirTags to market; this may not be the case until next year.
