Sandra Pralong (state councilor in the presidential administration responsible for relations with the diaspora) proposed the installation of webcams in the villages, hoping that they will create an attachment to the country.
“First of all the Internet in the villages, maybe we put the cameras in front of the lenses of each village, so that Romanians abroad can see their hen walking past the church. You don’t realize what attachment this extraordinary connection would create,” he said. Sandra Pralong during a debate with the diaspora, writes psnews.ro.
Romanian villages face much more serious problems, such as a lack of basic structures or poorly constructed roads, which makes Sandra Pralong’s proposal out of the ordinary.
His statement came in the context in which the Minister of Communications, Marius Bostan, announced a plan to introduce broadband communications networks in 780 rural locations.
Sandra Pralong came to public attention in late 2014, in a debate on teaching religion in schools, when she claimed that real people don’t need religion
