Bitcoin mining is a very competitive sector. It has grown exponentially in recent years. In the last nine months, there have been a group of new entrants who have joined the production of mining production facilities such as GMO Group, Halong Mining and Ebang. Now there is a new company that has partnered with the Samsung semiconductor foundry, called Innosilicon, which launched Terminator 2-Turbo which claims to increase the hashrate speed of the machine up to 24 trillion hashes per second ( TH / s).

The production of mining plants is becoming extremely competitive lately, and there was a large part of the new machines launched with much faster semiconductors. For example, the Ebang company and its miner Ebit E10 extracts the SHA-256 algorithm and introduced 10nm chips independently made in the last year. The machine specifications declare to produce a low energy consumption of 1650 W and produce a maximum hashrate of 18Th / s. However, the machine is not available through Ebang as the product is sold out and E10 can only be purchased through secondary markets. Then there was the company Halong Mining that produced Dragonmint T1 a SHA-256 miner that generated 16 trillion hashes per second. Halong also uses a chip designed by Samsung at 10 nm but the miner Halong is sold out and is unavailable for months.

The Hong Kong company Innosilicon has created a faster SHA-256 ASIC miner that produces 24TH / s using the low-power Finfet semiconductor of Samsung Foundry technology. News.Bitcoin.com initially reported on the new Innosilicon miner when it was discovered that four containers of the original Terminator 2 model were shipped to the United States and sent to the company known as Blockstream.

"The current ASIC Mining Innosilicon Bitcoin has already been used in the most energy-efficient miner, known as Terminator 2 Miner with 17.2TH to 1430W + 10%," explains Company in Hong Kong.

The recently upgraded T2-Turbo miner offers improved 24TH / s performance for a small tube in normal mode and its power consumption can go down to 75W / TH on the wall in low power mode, 30% better than the products closest competitors on the market.

Samsung satisfied with the mining partnership

Ryan Sanghyun Lee, vice president of Foundry Marketing Team at Samsung Electronics, explained that the giant technology company was satisfied with the partnership with Innosilicon. "We are very pleased to provide the most advanced low-power solution to Smart Server through Innosilicon to ensure a very competitive equipment life," said Lee. "We believe that Innosilicon's ASIC mining Bitcoin T2 based on Samsung's advanced low-power Fin FET process will offer differentiated value to its customers with significant benefits in energy efficiency and high performance."

Roger Mao, vice president of engineering, Innosilicon explains that the new T2-Turbo will provide miners with a lower operational risk and a return on investment (ROI) better than other miners in the next 12-24 months . "Innosilicon and Samsung will go very far as good partners to offer many more interesting low-power products on the market in the coming years," Mao stressed.

While still very powerful the Innosilicon T2-Turbo is not the most efficient miner – Miner B3 processes of the GMO group 33TH / s

Although 24 trillion hash per second is a very competitive car, it is not the most efficient miner on the planet. A little while ago, the GMO Group revealed the company's B2 mining plant, which is on par with the Innosilicon T2-Turbo at 24 / o, but GMO also has launched the B3, which shuts down the B2 and T2-Turbo ports with 33TH / s. The Japanese GMO group has produced miners with 7nm semiconductor technology that is so far uncontested by other drilling rig competitors

However, Innosilicon T2-Turbo is expected to bring greater competitiveness to the industry and the car is available at $ 1,350 per unit. The development team also released a video of Terminator 2 under construction and also its mining performance. In addition, rumors circulate in Wechat forums that Canaan Creative has a powerful car coming out very soon. A screenshot of a description from the last Canaan Avalon 9 states that the new machine will produce 26-30TH / s.

A screenshot leaked by Canaan Creative shows that the company could launch the Avalon 9 soon.

However, the machine is not available on the Canaan website and the rumor and screenshot are not confirmed at the time of publication. So far the miners GMO Group and Innosilicon are the best performing miners in the sector up to the launch of the next series of more efficient miners. Meanwhile, the mining giant Bitmain Technologies has released a series of new ASIC miners for various coins, but has not yet updated SHA-256 Antminer S9s which has between 13.2 and 14 TH / s.
