In the Coronavirus Outbreak and Community Research by the research firm Ipsos, citizens were asked if they would have a vaccine for the coronavirus if they were found. According to the research, half of citizens are evaluating vaccination, the rate of those who say they do not get vaccinated permanently or probably is 18%, while the rate of undecided is 30%.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AS A NEW VACCINE FOR THE BIGGEST CONCERNS ABOUT VACCINES
When research questions why not to get vaccinated or be indecisive, it turns out that the main concern is related to possible side effects from the new vaccine. Among the reasons for non-use by citizens, 58% follow the side effects of the drug and 14% the idea that the vaccine will not be protective or the effect will be short-term. In general, anyone who says they won’t get the coronavirus vaccine because it’s anti-vaccine is at the 5% level.
EXPECTATION OF A VACCINE ON BOTH READY TO USE IN THE MIDDLE OR END OF THE LAST FOLLOWING YEAR
According to the World Health Organization report of October 29, 2020, 45 clinical trials are currently underway for the coronavirus, 10 of which have already progressed to phase 3 before its launch. In other words, the 10 vaccines in phase 3 are tested in a more comprehensive group of patients, how effective they are against the virus and their side effects. On the other hand, it is not yet known whether these vaccines will be successful or not. In the study, citizens were asked when the coronavirus vaccine would be ready for use first. As a result, one in two people think the vaccine will be ready for use by mid- or late 2021 (47%). The vaccine is not expected to be ready this year. There is also a section (17%) who think the vaccine will be ready within the next year.
CEO of Ipsos in Turkey on the subject Sid Gedik; “How will we survive? By vaccination and / or treatment. Two out of three people think there won’t be a vaccine before the middle of next year. However, once the vaccine is available, one in two is unsafe or against the vaccine. The main reason for not being vaccinated for these people is to be afraid of its side effects as it is a new vaccine.
So we’ll wait nearly another year for the vaccine, and some of us won’t get it when the vaccine is found. That is why we must continue to protect ourselves and our relatives for a while. At this point, we come face to face with another surprising discovery, about three out of ten people are somehow very sure that the virus will not infect them !!! This group, which we have encountered in our previous research, poses a great risk. I hope these people are safe as they strictly follow the measures. Although the trend in the number of patients per day does not show it, I want to hope so, “he said.
