Inconsistencies for the expected December Windows Patch Day

[ad_1]

In the announcement for the planned Christmas break, Microsoft has now also released a calendar for its partners, within which updates must be presented. However, December’s Patch Day was worn for an unusual date.

Windows Patch Day is traditionally always the second Tuesday of the month, something Windows users have always been able to rely on. However, Microsoft has now put a different date on a developer memo for next month. Suddenly it means that the so-called LCU update or also called Update B is scheduled for the third week of December. This memo was published early last week: if it was a mistake, the company would have plenty of time to change it. So far, however, nothing has happened – the patch day date is still entered there for the third and not the second Tuesday in December.

Error or exception?

However, it could obviously be a mistake. But: We had previously reported a similar “accidental” announcement in the developer tech community, which was initially classified as unlikely by many experts, but it turned out to be correct. This is also interesting because the ad is a publicly available source.

In reality, Microsoft just wanted to remind developers with input from the tech community when they should send out driver updates at the latest. Because Microsoft plans to take a longer Christmas break again (we reported). During this time, only a limited number of employees will be available for the approval process, so the team wants to remind its partners again.

What do you think – mistake or not?
