in France, a contrasting situation depending on the region

DECREE

What does the Covid map of France look like? The green, orange and red zones are now forgotten, as the virus has been circulating throughout the territory in recent weeks. In the country, the threshold of 44,000 deaths has been exceeded, of which over 30,000 in hospital, and 4,855 people are currently in intensive care. A slightly lower figure than the day before. France remains in tension but the epidemic situation varies from region to region.

We must therefore remain cautious, but in Paris and in the Île-de-France it seems that a clearing is looming. “The drop in transmission is quite marked in Paris right now. The first indicators, new cases, calls to Samu and calls to SOS Médecins, are down. This is good news”, analyzed on Europa 1 Saturday l l epidemiologist Renaud Piarroux.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alps particularly affected

A local clearing that contrasts with other regions still in tension, such as Hauts-de-France or Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Savoy, relatively spared in spring, is today the most affected department with an incidence rate 2.5 times higher than the national average.

The patients were thus transferred to other regions, but we must continue to face the wave: “In the hospital we still have at least two very difficult days ahead of us”, explains Olivier Rogeaux, specialist in infectious diseases at the Métropole Savoia hospital. “Above all we must not let ourselves go. And I believe that the best gift is above all to strictly respect the confinement”.

In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the situation remains critical even in the EHPADs, according to Public Health France. There are at least 125 active clusters, of which 27 in Savoy and 15 in Isère.
