Important Android apps are installed faster

27 November 2020 – When migrating apps from one Android smartphone to another, you need to prioritize apps from now on, so that the most important and most frequently used applications are delivered first.

Anyone who has switched from an Android smartphone to a later model knows the cumbersome installation process until all the apps are available again on the new device. According to a report by “Xda-Developers”, Google wants to speed up this process. So-called installation instructions should be used. These ensure that the most important apps are migrated to the new platform first and made available as soon as possible. Notes should be based on the four flags Default, Fast, Bulk_critical and Bulk_non_critical. The flags should reflect users’ usage habits. In addition, dependencies between apps should also be considered.

It is not yet certain whether the new procedure will actually be implemented. Implementation in early versions of Android 12 would be expected within a few months at the earliest. It is assumed that Google will provide detailed information on the next release in May. (rd)
