Identify the possible physical location of consciousness (and it’s not in the brain)

According to a study, thoughts and mental activity are encoded in the electromagnetic energy shared by neurons.

Human consciousness, as the most complex product of the body’s nervous activity, would not be found in our brain, but rather in the electromagnetic field of this organ, suggests a study published last September in the journal Neuroscience of Consciousness.

According to the researchers, led by Professor Johnjoe McFadden, consciousness is made up of electromagnetic energy that is born as result of electrical signals shared by neurons.

This energy, which can be detected by electroencephalography and magnetoencephalography, could be the very core of consciousness, where our thoughts and mental processes are located.

Scientists confirm that men have larger brains "variable" than women

In his hypothesis, described as the conscious electromagnetic information field theory (cemi), McFadden proposes that consciousness is causally active, physically integrated and encoded in the electromagnetic field of our brain.

Unlike neural and computational processing, which occurs primarily over time, the cemi theory suggests that consciousness is rooted in a entirely physical structure, measurable and susceptible to artificial modifications and experimental tests.

Hence, this paradigm poses a scientific dualism based on a distinction between matter and energy, rather than between matter and spirit.
