Ian Wright called on Premier League leaders to stop penalty shooters like Bruno Fernandes from jumping into their chases.
Wright says he’s “unfair” to goalkeepers as a stammering run-up, combined with a leap in the air, makes it harder for them to time the dive.
Wright voiced his opinion shortly after Fernandes used the tactic twice to score the only goal in the Red Devil’s game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Manchester United received a penalty in the 56th minute of the Premier League clash with West Brom.
Baggies ‘first choice goalkeeper Sam Johnstone blocked Fernandes’ first shot, but was penalized for walking away from his line during the run-up by the midfielders.
Fernandes then took another shot and found the net to see United secure their first home win of the 2020-2021 season.
Wright, however, has called on Premier League officials to step in as he says such returns are “unfair” on goalkeepers.

‘And then you have a leap forward, doing this, doing that kind of thing and the goalkeeper can’t move his foot.
‘They should stop people from jumping and that, they should fill up … run to the ball and hit it. If they can move and the goalkeepers can’t, it’s not fair.
Asked by fellow expert Gary Lineker: “Will you have a law that says you can’t jump?”
Wright responded by saying, “Yes, you have to go straight to the run-up to penalties, don’t jump.”
Fernandes isn’t the only Premier League player to use tactics to fool the opposing goalkeeper.
Chelsea’s Jorginho is a supporter of the tactic, although both players have missed the spot this season using the “jumping style”.
