You can easily check if you are one of the pioneers who have enabled this feature.
A few days ago we officially learned of the future arrival of self-destructing messages on WhatsApp, an option that we thought would be implemented in an ineffective way for many users.
Well, according to the well-known Wabetainfo portal, the function of self-destructing messages has already been implemented in the new version beta for Android 2.20.206.9., so your arrival is closer than ever.
Available for some users
WhatsApps that are automatically destroyed are already available to some application users, but their implementation is slow. So, if you haven’t enabled this feature yet, don’t be alarmed, as the messaging app is still testing it.
There is also a chance that you are one of the lucky ones and you just don’t know it. The truth, it would be a pity That they were pioneers and that you were wasting the opportunity.
To check if the self-destruct message option is enabled, it’s as simple as:
- Open a contact or group information if you are the admin.
- If you see a new “disappearing messages” tab it means that the new option is enabled for you and you can start using it.
By activating the disappearing messages, in the profile picture of that specific conversation a clock icon will appear to indicate that your messages have an expiration date. Likewise, the participants in that conversation or group will be informed with an automatic message that everything they write will be deleted in the next seven days.
Some basics of disappearing messages
When the pop-up messages option is activated for the first time, a text box appears in the WhatsApp interface specifying some aspects related to it. For example, the app informs us that if this function is operational and the user does not read the message within a period of 7 days, it will still be deleted. But nevertheless, the preview of the message may still be available.
Attention also to another point: If you reply to a message with scheduled self-destruct, the message display may still be available on the replica. This brings us back to the little use that many users we mentioned at the beginning of the news find for this.
Also, as we have mentioned on other occasions, if the self-destructing message is forwarded to other chats, this will not be deleted, nor will it be deleted if the user has created a file backup before automatic deletion. Of course, once the reset is applied, WhatsApp tells us it will be deleted.
