She was transgender and now uses masculine pronouns, Page announced Tuesday via the Twitter short message service. “I’m happy to be able to write this. That I am here That I have come to this place in my life “.
Page uses both masculine and gender-neutral pronouns (English: he / they) and describes himself as transgender and non-binary, meaning that his gender identity is neither masculine nor feminine.
Page gained fame in 2005 with the vengeful thriller “Hard Candy”. Two years later he starred in Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody’s acclaimed indie “Juno,” for which Page received an Oscar nomination, among other things.
Her notable roles include Kitty Pryde in the series “X-Men”, Christopher Nolan’s “Inception”, “Whip It!” and Sony’s reboot of “Flatliners”.
Prior to the transgender announcement, Page was one of Hollywood’s most popular gay actresses. Tuesday’s announcement further enriches Page’s legacy, adding her to a limited but growing number of trans stars in Hollywood.
