Roketsan, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defense industry, continues to advance rapidly in space research. The company reached to produce a space rocket trajectory in this area in 2018 it had announced it had achieved a first in Turkey. Now the first images of this date have been shared. You can watch the video shared on Roketsan’s new YouTube address below:

According to Roketsan’s statements, the sounding rocket test was carried out on December 21-22, 2018. The rocket is said to have taken off from Sinop. As you can see in the video, the rocket quickly reaches the Karman line of 100 km, accepted as a space limit. It was learned that the test rocket crashed into the Black Sea after staying in microgravity for a short time in the sub-orbit.

ROKETSAN announced: We will go into space for the second time

We are in the space league

The video above is from Roketsan’s first successful orbital launch. However, according to statements by President Erdogan, the company has managed to hit space for the third or fourth time in recent months. Erdogan’s statements are as follows:

“We have good news from Roketsan. Now we have said that we are in the space league. I mean once again that we have illuminated the darkness of space thanks to our national technology. The satellite launch tests that we have done completely nationwide are been completed successfully. In these tests, we hit the gap 4 times. “

You can watch another of these tests below. The images of the Earth in the last part of the video look particularly impressive.

Around the world, countries such as the US, Russia, China, India, Japan and Israel and Europe have technologies that can go into space. Unfortunately, countries that don’t have these technologies can’t exist much in space. Although Roketsan’s first tests in space were slightly delayed, it was indeed an important undertaking. Roketsan CEO Murat İkinci said that the first full-capacity orbital rocket capable of carrying satellites at an altitude of 400 kilometers can be completed in 1-2 years.

Military missiles and space rockets actually have very similar technologies in fundamental terms. For example, the United States views space rockets as a military technology and does not allow rocket companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin to hire foreign citizens. Even Turkey currently has a valuable ROKETSAN as a company, it cannot be expected that ROKETSAN’s access to space technology has anything to do with this knowledge and expertise.
