Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Yusef Abu Al-Rish, said providing oxygen has become the biggest challenge in providing health care to people with the Corona virus.

Abu Al-Rish said during a press conference on developments in the epidemiological situation in the Gaza Strip and the measures taken in particular today, Wednesday, that some patients need 60 liters of oxygen per minute.

He stressed that the European hospital in Gaza had an oxygen consumption capacity of 20 liters per minute, underlining the quest to increase the amount of oxygen for the European hospital in Gaza to treat larger cases.

And he indicated that 78% of hospital beds are occupied by difficult cases of Corona, indicating that the resort to closure occurs in cases of stress and cessation of health capacity.

Abu Al-Rish confirmed that the Gaza Strip is moving swiftly and intensively towards imposing a global closure unless there is a commitment by citizens to preventive measures, noting that this phase requires greater commitment from part of the citizen and the strengthening of social responsibility.
