He turned down a blatant film offer – and for good reason! Matthew McConaughey (51) has been an established figure in Hollywood for years. The actor has become an absolute superstar, especially with love comedies like “Seduced to Undress” or “The Womanizer”. But at some point the boyfriend got fed up with romantic movies – and for this he had Matteo A few years ago a multimillion-dollar movie deal was turned down!
In an interview on the talk show Loose men the 51-year-old says openly: “I actually turned down an offer of twelve million euros. My mother and brother still ask me today what drove me.” But why didn’t he take the deal? He would have known the script for the drama “Dallas Buyers Club” and would have liked to appear in the film, but at the time he was still too attached to romantic comedies. “I enjoyed making them, but these films did so well that I wasn’t offered any roles in the plays – which is what I wanted to do,” he continues.
So Matthew decided to stop taking romantic comedy roles – for two years. “And suddenly, when I was gone for quite a while and no longer acted in romantic comedies, I finally got the drama offers I wanted to play, and one of them was ‘Dallas Buyers Club'”, explains the screen hero. And it was with this film that she eventually won her first Oscar!
