HandCash has officially gone keyless with the launch of HandCash 2.5! Keyless HandCash has long been awaited and is a significant milestone for any wallet provider to achieve as it simplifies the life of the end user and helps align the digital currency ecosystem with consumer lifestyles and preferences.
“Our favorite aspect of 2.5 is that we are finally able to successfully direct our attention with HandCash from a ‘Bitcoin wallet’ to a ‘nano payments ecosystem’,” said Alex Agut, CEO of HandCash. “The new user interface is business oriented rather than money management and will gradually iterate towards what we call 3.0, which is the final form of what we have in mind with this change in philosophy.”
HandCash 2.5 is around the corner!

The advantages of being without keys
A 12-word seed sentence, also known as your private key, isn’t exactly something easy to remember. Wallet providers encourage their users to write their 12-word keyword phrase and keep it in a safe place, because if they forget their 12-word phrase, they will be blocked from their wallet and no longer have access to their funds.
For digital currency enthusiasts, keeping track of your private key is second nature. However, for those new to digital currency and Bitcoin, the private key creates friction and a barrier to entry. There is no other time outside of digital currency where you are required to create a multi-word password and keep it safe; beyond that, there is no other time when, if you end up losing your multi-word password, you cannot contact customer service or an account manager to regain access to your account.
HandCash 2.5 requires you to make your account keyless. We recommend that people only use apps and systems they trust.
There are three ways:
– Go without keys
– Move your luck elsewhere and keep just a few bucks on HandCash
– Transfer your funds and close your account– HandCash (@handcashapp) November 10, 2020
The HandCash team saw that the digital currency industry had these problems and decided to fix them, which they did in HandCash 2.5.
How does it work
“From the user’s point of view, validating an e-mail address will suffice to make their accounts keyless. That’s it! We’ll take care of the rest. After this transition, you just need to verify your phone number and address email to log into your HandCash account, “HandCash said in their announcement.
HandCash phone / email verification are both processes consumers are much more familiar with than keeping a 12-word seed sentence. Most consumers have to go through a similar process when it comes to logging into their bank account.
How to get HandCash 2.5
You can currently register for HandCash 2.5 early access by going to the HandCash website and joining the wait list. If you weren’t among the first to sign up for Early Access, you can expect HandCash 2.5 to officially launch the week of November 23rd.
As for what you can expect from the HandCash team, beyond the global launch of HandCash 2.5:
“There are three big things coming up that failed to cut the 2.5 – the only ones I can discuss are obviously the fiat ramps. Luckily this is closer than we expected, “Agut said.” We will start in Europe very soon. [And] Not the usual Bitcoin-fiat ramps. We have solved the dollar refill problem! You will see.”
