Once planned as a systems vendor and launch title for Xbox Series X, things turned out differently with Halo Infinite. In this regard, the previous development was not necessarily without its problems however – and now an important personality is leaving ship: the director.
The development team behind Halo Infinite must take the next hardest blow, then with Chris Lee the game’s director leaves ship. Such as Bloomberg Lee has reportedly pulled out of the project and 343 Industries and puts the future fate of the confident action in the hands of the entire team.
Lee told the prestigious business magazine that he was looking for “future opportunities” but was convinced the team would “make a great game”. According to him, “now is a good time [für ihn]been to retire. “
Microsoft has also confirmed this in the meantime, but points out that Lee will continue to be an employee of the company.
Lee is already the next high-level developer to leave Halo Infinite. Tim Longo, Creative Director of 343 Industries, landed in August 2019. His successor, Mary Olson, also immediately said goodbye in October 2019.
Work on Halo Infinite continues and is expected to be completed with the game’s release in 2021. It is rumored that a further postponement until the year 2022 is part of the debate, but has not yet been confirmed. It is unknown to what extent Lee’s departure will affect the process and who will succeed him in the director position.
