US rock band Guns N ‘Roses wants to appear on a stadium tour in a year. This is the first announcement of the tour since the start of the crown pandemic with the closing of the borders and the interruptions of the performances, the band announced. An eight concert tour of New Zealand and Australia will take place in November 2021 under the slogan “Stadium Rock is Back!”

In May, the group around founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan had to cancel their scheduled early summer 2020 European tour on short notice. The band wants to recover some of the canceled concerts next summer. It is unclear whether and to what extent major concerts will again be possible.

Crown under control in Australia and New Zealand

Unlike European or American states, Australia and New Zealand have kept the coronavirus under control. The number of new infections in both countries is currently double-digit.

During the first crown wave, Australia and New Zealand had imposed severe travel restrictions and closed their borders early. Events are repeating themselves in both countries. For example, thousands of spectators come to the stadiums of the tri-nation rugby tournament.

The event industry in Germany is suffering greatly from the crown crisis. Since large gatherings of people have been banned since spring, the concerts have been held on a smaller scale or not at all. More recently, the band Die Ärzte appealed to the politicians of “Tagesthemen”. Due to the lack of opportunities to perform during the crisis, many people in the concert industry have not had a job for seven months, drummer Bela B.
