If you own the games as a disc version, you can just plug them into the new console and get started. Owners of the digital version of the game can then download it again on the new console via their PSN or Xbox Live account. The accounts also ensure that you can simply continue with your previous scores on the new platform. Saved data can also be transferred to the new platform via LAN cable or USB storage device.

If you play GTA Online and Red Dead Online, you don’t even have to worry – these scores are compared and tracked via online accounts which are still required. Rockstar is still silent on the technical optimizations of the old versions of the game on the new consoles.
