Dutch cyclist Dylan Groenewegen has been suspended for nine months for causing an accident at the Tour of Poland that left Fabio Jakobsen in a coma, the UCI officially announced today.
Groenewegen, 27, “will expire a suspension period until 7 May 2021,” the UCI said in a statement. Jakobsen spent two days in a coma and required facial reconstruction surgery after being thrown in and over the barriers at the end of the opening round in August.

I follow the news of Fabio’s recovery very closely. I can only hope that one day it will completely return. Closing the disciplinary issue creates clarity.
