The application of Google photos has several resources for photo editing, and these resources are accessible for free and by anyone who installs the application. However, Google is preparing to get some of these features paid for through a Google One subscription.
Initially, Google One was an offer to have additional storage in your Google account. Subsequently, the offer was enriched with some new services, and the most recent to be added is that of the Google VPN service, which for now is only available in the USA. The next item in that list is the Google Photos editing services.
Color Pop is no longer a free resource for Google Photos users
The guys at 9to5Google spotted some mentions while rummaging through the Google Photos app for Android:
- As a member of Google One, you have access to additional editing features
- Get additional editing features with a Google One membership
- Unlock this feature and more with a Google One subscription
- Unlock more editing features e [storage_space] with a Google One subscription
The truth is that some users have already noticed the change in the Android application. When Google Photos opens, the application informs you Color Pop (pictured above) requires Google One, something that was previously a free editing feature.
So far, the search giant has yet to make any official comments on the matter, but that is likely to happen soon.
